WHAT IS BOUDOIR (“BOO DWAR”) ?

A French word meaning pouting room, to pout, a woman’s bedroom, dressing room, or private sitting room and no one is allowed to enter unless invited. The following information has been designed to answer some of the frequently asked questions we are asked at Voulez Vous from wardrobe selection to picking up your final products. If you have any questions that are not answered below, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are more than happy to speak with you on an individual basis. Intimate portraiture has been gaining immense popularity in recent years. As women, we spend endless amounts of time and money pampering ourselves with beauty products and services, clothing, accessories, fitness and even plastic surgery to make us feel beautiful. By investing in portraiture of ourselves, we can capture and document our beauty to treasure for a lifetime. Regardless of age or body type, we specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, modern boudoir portraits. MY SESSION IS BOOKED – HOW DO I PREPARE?

In preparation for your shoot, please think of the following things: Hair touch-ups, waxing, eyebrow shaping, manicure, pedicure, tanning and moisturizing (salon tanning should be done several days prior to your premier). Once your premier is booked, we will send you our Client Guide, which goes into further detail regarding preparation.

DO YOU PROVIDE HAIR AND MAKEUP SERVICES?

Yes. We strongly encourage having both done by professionals – it really makes a difference in the final images.

PREPARING FOR YOUR PREMIER. WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

No we don’t supply wardrobe but have some great suggestions on what to bring with you. Please bring a variety of lingerie, shoes and jewelry. We will work with you to create the look you want. When you are choosing lingerie, consider choosing more than one set to get a variety of looks. Lingerie can include bra and panty sets, (Make sure you bring a bra that is supportive so that you can also wear underneath your lingerie, if needed, for that little extra boost if you so desire). a corset, teddy, chemise, camisole, garters, thigh high stockings and robes, even your t-shirt and socks…whatever makes you feel beautiful and sexy. While black is the standard in sexy, all colors are great and give a nice variety of looks to your final images. For brides, consider bringing your favorite white lingerie. We have a veil and white garters to complete the bridal. Other items to bring include a variety of high heels, high boots, jewelry, scarves, hats, and/or ties. Feel free to bring anything with you to accessorize your shoot and make it a more personalized experience. A piece of your mate’s favorite apparel – shirt and tie perhaps or a sports jersey – he’ll love it! Most important hydrate! No tight-fitting clothing. Moisturize. If you are having hair and makeup at the studio come with a clean face and clean hair. Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure, but avoid facials or waxing for 1-2 days before your session as they can cause redness. Lip gloss/stick and fake eyelashes are fantastic enhancements and are encouraged! The key areas are the eyes and the lips!

I’M A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT NUDITY.

Nudity is certainly not necessary and we will not push you to go further than you feel comfortable with. Sexy isn’t always about how much you show, it’s all about how you show it and how you feel.

SOUNDS GREAT … BUT I’M FEELING NERVOUS ABOUT MY PREMIER!

Feeling nervous or self-conscious about having an intimate session? There’s no need to worry, it’s natural to feel this way. We guide you through each pose and know exactly which angles to capture for all body types to make you look like the beautiful woman you are. You don’t need to know how to pose, you won’t have to do any performing and won’t be put on the spot. We’ll show you how to get those sexy poses and sultry looks. Our sessions are designed to allow plenty of time to relax and feel comfortable which really shows in the final images. So leave everything up to us … just relax and enjoy yourself!

I HAVE A LITTLE PROBLEM AREA THAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT BY BODY – IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO?

Regardless of age or body type, we specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, contemporary boudoir portraits. Flattering your best features, Voulez Vous provides you with something truly unique to show how beautiful you are. Every woman is very different and has something incredible to capture. Our advanced retouching includes skin perfecting, and eye enhancement. Every detail is covered from wrinkles to acne, scars, cellulite and stretch marks. You don’t have to worry about these little imperfections. We have everything covered. If you have a particular problem area that you’re not happy with, let us know. Our advanced posing techniques are designed to emphasize the positives and disguise problem areas.

WILL MY PREMIER BE WITH A FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHER?

Yes! With such personal portraits it is reassuring for both you and the man in your life that Voulez Vous is an all female team including the makeup artist, photographer, assistant and retouch artist.

WILL MY IMAGES BE SHOWN ON YOUR WEBSITE OR IN YOUR STUDIO?

The images shown on our website, blog and in-studio displays are shown with the client’s permission only. At the end of your premier you will be given an optional model release form that is completely voluntary to sign. If you choose not to sign the release, your images will not be seen by anyone other than employees of Voulez Vous. We fully understand and respect the privacy of our clients.

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS EXCITED TO BOOK AN INTIMATE SESSION.

For each new client that you refer to Voulez Vous who books a premier, you will receive a credit towards an additional session for yourself. Take advantage of the referral program as often as you like by spreading the word! Credits are awarded once the full premier fee is received from the new client. Credits have no cash value and can only be used by the original referrer and are not transferable.

I’D LOVE TO GIVE A SESSION AS A GIFT. CAN I DO THAT?

Certainly! Gift Certificates are available for premier fees and/or products.

ON THE SET.

Your premier will last between 30-120 minutes, depending on your package choice. I will coach you on posing, demonstrating first so you have a visual. However, if you have ideas of your own feel free to “work it.” After your session (depending on your package), within 14 days of your session, your proofs will be available for you to view on a private password protected gallery. You will be given 7 days to choose your favorite images for your final products. ORYou will take a 60-minute break while I download your images and prepare them for your viewing premier. We will select your favorite 30 photos to complete your album. You can use this time to browse a variety of album options and custom products such as calendars, canvas wraps, or a digital CD with your retouched images. Keep in mind that it takes 4-6 weeks to receive your finished images.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I HAVE TO CHOOSE FROM?

Many images are captured during your session. Afterwards, each image is put through a careful selection process. You will see only the images that meet the standards of Voulez Vous. Images that do not meet these standards are removed permanently during the selection process.

SCHEDULING YOUR PERSONAL AND PRIVATE SESSION.

Once you are ready to book your premier and we choose a date and time, there is a $150 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your premier date and is applied to your package. This will secure your booking with both myself and the hair/makeup artist. If you need to reschedule, you must give 7 days advance notice or you will lose your deposit. You must reschedule your shoot within 30 days of your original date. Sorry, there are no exceptions, so please check your schedule carefully when booking.

WHY IS A SHOOT SUCH AN INVESTMENT?

There are a lot of “photographers” out there with a nice, large expensive digital camera and Photoshop, but this doesn’t make them a qualified professional photographer. Do they know how to light a woman, hide those spots that make her feel uncomfortable, retouch those photos to give an elegant finished look? Each shoot I do requires time, skill, instruction, consulting, set up of backgrounds, lighting, the hours shooting, time spent downloading, archiving images, retouching, designing albums, and ordering. There is a lot of thought, time and energy that goes into every session to give each woman the high-end experience and elegant photos that I have been educated and experienced to offer as a “professional” photographer.
